"As a potter, my job is to humbly infuse everyday objects with human sensitivity. The aesthetic I cultivate maintains the lush softness of clay with simplicity and elegance. A blush of color here or the linear path of my fingertips there brings the joyful moments of making into a strong and durable form. It is my hope that the pottery I make is easy to live with and exists in a way that winks subtly from life’s periphery, bringing those who handle and use it a sense of where it came from: a fellow creative spirit on a path."

Guest Artist: Matt Hiller:

Matt Hiller is potter living and working from his off-the-grid studio in the Talkeetna area. With his focus primarily on functional pottery, he strives to elevate and celebrate daily life through his hand carved and highly decorated wares. Matt looks to historical pottery and traditional mark-making to influence his forms and surfaces that he creates using specialized tools and found objects. Furthermore he extracts and depicts textures, patterns and subject matter from his immediate surroundings and cognitive wanderings.

The studio is located at 55946 Tomcat Dr. in Fritz Creek. There is a walk of about 250 yards between the parking and the studio.
