Jenny Chamberlain
About me
I am a mama, wife, and maker. I live in Homer, Alaska with my family and work out of a small studio next to our home. My goal as a potter is to create visually pleasing work that is unique in character, but also useful in everyday life.
I grew up in southeastern Wisconsin and moved to Juneau, Alaska in 2009. I spent my first summer there as a kayak ranger and quickly fell in love with the natural beauty of the Alaskan coastline and the ocean.
Although I pursued the sciences throughout college, I never let pottery stray too far from my life. After beginning a graduate degree in Natural Resources at the University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2015, I decided to change directions and graduated with a Masters of Fine Art in Ceramics and Photography in 2018. My education in science and ceramics fostered my love for creating elaborate surfaces and forms that combine utility and inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounds me.
